Healthy Paranoia
This tweet from actor Ron Perelman is a perfect example of why a certain level of paranoia about protecting your data is just common sense. (Click Display Images if you can’t see it).
Data loss is a low-probability, high-impact event–like a hurricane; and most of us won’t get the attention of Apple’s CEO when we have a problem.
One major point of vulnerability is our Apple Photos library. Whether you are a Mac or a Windows user, most of us use iPhones and most iPhone users store images in Apple Photos. We may feel pretty safe keeping our photos and videos there, but it is possible (though rare) to lose access to it, or for that library to get corrupted.
Apple just made it REALLY easy to copy (not move) your Photos library–photos and videos–to Google Photos. As long as you have enough space (here’s how to check), it’s all free–so we encourage you to take advantage of this option as a safety measure. Click here to see a quick walkthrough of the process.
As always, let us know if you have questions!
